One of the hotels that stood out in this year's European Hotel Design Awards was the GENARATOR HOSTEL in Venice. A space that is both modern and rustic at the same time, with dynamic touches of classic luxury that draws the traveler in and welcomes him to a unique hostel. A confusing space, a jumble of things, ideas, colors, and opinions that all together compose a highly identifiable and artistic space that clearly testifies to the city's classical architecture and the designer's need to envision something timeless and contemporary at the same time. There is certainly no shortage of ethnic influences, which, with their appropriate application to materials and objects, sign the multicultural and cosmopolitan character of Venice.
